Acknowledgement of Country

In the spirit of reconciliation Barton Primary School acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We acknowledge the Bunurong people on whose land we learn and pay respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

Barton Primary School

Barton Primary School opened on the first day of the 2017 school year. The school is dedicated to providing high-quality education and support to its students. The curriculum is based on the Victorian Curriculum incorporating the Australian Curriculum achievement standards and skills. The staff believes that every student can succeed and strives to create an environment that encourages them to reach their full potential. By setting high expectations with high support, the school fosters a culture of achievement and excellence among its students.

Barton Primary School utilises teaching and learning methods that are backed by research and proven to be effective. By employing evidence-based practices, Barton Primary School ensures that students receive the highest quality education and are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for their future success.

In addition to academic excellence, Barton Primary School places a strong emphasis on student wellbeing. The school recognises that a positive and supportive environment is essential for students to thrive and succeed. The staff actively promotes the wellbeing of its students by fostering a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere. We implement our School Values through the School-Wide Positive Behaviours Support (SWPBS); Be Safe, Be a Learning, Be Respectful and Be Kind.

Our Community Hub space is managed by the YMCA after school hours provides Outside School Hours Care services and other community programs to local families and residents.
